LOGIN: You must be a registered user to create an
album in INM. Registration is free. If you are not yet
registered, please click here.
BEGINNING YOUR ALBUM: To begin or edit your album,
you need to search for the documents you want to put in the
album. Click here to begin your search.
ADDING ITEMS TO YOUR ALBUM: Once you have found
your document - it can be any item in INM such as a
photograph or manuscript, click on the link that says "add
item to my album". You may select as many items as you want
for your album.
ADDING YOUR OWN TEXT: You have the opportunity to
add your own comments your album. Each time you select a
document for your album from INM, you will have the
opportunity to type your own words into a box on the add
document form. They might be your thoughts on the subject,
other research you have done, or your reasons for choosing
the document. Your comments will appear along with the
document in your album.
ORGANIZING YOUR ALBUM: Your selections are entered
into your album in the order that you select them. You
cannot move them around or change their order. If you are
making a long album, it might be useful to do you searching,
write down the documents you want to select, and then
organize them in the order you want them to appear in your
album before you make your actual selection.
VIEWING YOUR ALBUM: If at any time you want to see
what is in your album, you can select My Album and you will
be shown your selections.
EDITING YOUR ALBUM: You may want to change things
once you see how your album looks. The My Album feature
allows you to delete a selection if you no longer want it.
You can also delete items and re-enter them to change their
order in your album. This is somewhat cumbersome, so try to
plan ahead for long albums. You can also edit your comments
from your My Album page by clicking on the edit button.
SHARING YOUR ALBUM: If you want to share your
album with friends, relatives, teachers, or others, copy
your URL (web address) from the navigation bar and give or
send it to the other person. Don't worry, they will be able
to look at the album, but they won't be able to change it.
Only you can change it because only you know the user name
and password that controls the album.
