Quick Search: To search the database of historical items and
documents, just type a word or phrase that describes what
you're looking for. If you know the INM document number,
type that. Then click the "Search" button.
Quick Search gives you quick, simple and reliable access
to documents in the Inland Northwest Memories database.
Quick Search gives you the ability to search by a word or
phrase. To search using Quick Search, type a word, document
number, or related phrase into the search box and click
search. Enter any word or words in the Quick Search field
and the search engine will return the documents that match
your word(s). Each document has as a complete a cataloguing
record as possible, along with associated information such
as a caption, the season, weather, time of day, mood,
concepts, and color description. The search engine combs
through every field to find matches to the exact words you
search by. You may also enter related information, such as a
person's name, a theme, a year, an emotion expressed by an
image, or other words that may help you locate the type of
document you want.
Document Number (for example: 5001) Each document in the
Inland Northwest Memories database has a unique
identification number. Enter a document number in the Quick
Search field and the search engine will return the document
you are looking for. This feature is great for revisiting a
familiar document or locating a document on the suggestion
of a colleague or friend.
You also have other search options.
Advanced Search: This search allows you to restrict your
search by county, document type, and/or year.
You may also search by using the lists under themes,
people, events, collections, manuscripts, and oral
histories.
